When you have guests over, one of the first things you probably do is share your Wi-Fi password with them. Sharing Wi-Fi passwords has gotten a lot better lately, but there’s still room for improvement. 1Password, one of the best password manager apps, has added a new feature that makes it even easier to share your Wi-Fi password with others. 1Password now automatically generates a QR code for saved Wi-Fi networks and lets you easily share them, even if you’ve never connected to that network before. This sets it apart from other Wi-Fi password sharing methods, which require you to have the network saved on your device.

1Password has updated its various apps to support QR code Wi-Fi password sharing on all supported devices. To use this feature, you first need to update 1Password to the latest version. Then, open the app and go to one of your saved Wi-Fi passwords. A QR code that helps your friends connect should be there.

Note that you can also get a QR code when you create a new entry. Just make sure you choose Wireless Router after selecting the New Item button.

Don't worry if you don't see a QR code right away. You'll need to fill in the Network Name and Network Password fields completely before you see anything.
