The Final Shape expansion for Destiny 2 is less than a week away and I for one am pretty excited about it. Nearly a decade of Destiny storytelling is about to come to a (hopefully) glorious conclusion, but with everything new on the way, what can we really look forward to in The Final Shape?

This is the finale of the Light and Darkness story. It begins in 2015, when we wake up on a highway in Russia, and ends in the present, where we resurrect the spirit of an evil dragon to take us where we need to go.

The Final Shape will finally bring us face to face with our great benefactor and curse, the Traveler, and take us on a journey to “The Pale Heart.” The Witness, the greatest enemy we’ve ever faced and the entire reason we’re in this mess, plans to enforce his perfect vision of silence upon the universe, and we’ll have to do our utmost to send him packing.

This is, in my opinion, the biggest thing I’m excited about. I started my Destiny journey when I was 15, and now that I’m almost at the end, I’m 25. I’ve finished high school, college, gone to college once and failed, and then went back and graduated. I’ve had jobs and relationships, joys and sorrows, and all the while, Destiny is slowly coming to an end. The efforts of millions of Guardians are paying off, and if that’s not something to be absolutely excited about, I don’t know what is.
