Prevent apps from stealing your data

As technology becomes more pervasive in our daily lives, new forms of intrusive data collection are emerging. iOS or Android apps on smartphones and web browsers like Chrome have always been known for their data collection policies, but your PC’s service providers are not innocent either.

Microsoft collects its users’ personal data in the name of diagnostic data, building an advertising ID for each Microsoft account. Whether you’re running Windows 10 or have upgraded to Windows 11, your personal data is being monitored and collected on an ongoing basis.

And the worst part is, you can’t just turn it off. Windows 11 settings doesn’t include an option for Windows users to disable telemetry, even if you have Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 secure boot enabled on your computer. Fortunately, there are some great third-party settings apps that you can use to tweak security settings and maintain your privacy.
