I have a soft spot for portable apps. They don’t require installation on your computer and can be run on a USB stick. This means your computer can remain free of all the junk files that gradually accumulate due to installed software.

But the downside is that portable apps are only for Windows computers. So far I have never seen one for MacOS or Linux (or maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places).
