Apple is working on at least two prototypes of a foldable iPhone, which is fine. But since it's Apple, it seems unlikely that it will just be a regular iPhone that folds in half.

According to Wayne Ma of The Information, "the prototypes fold widthwise like a clamshell." Presumably, Apple has found a way to solve the hardware problems of foldable phones, like scratch-prone screens that eventually crease. What could this mean for the foldable phone that would make it worth it? I have some ideas.
“I’ve been studying how artificial intelligence can revolutionize not only marketing, but various aspects of technology, including smartphones,” AI company founder Matthew Montez told Lifewire via email. “AI and natural language processing have improved significantly, but there are still limitations. While AI could handle a large portion of tasks through voice commands and automation, the challenge remains to make these interactions as natural and intuitive as manual controls.”
A major design issue with foldable phones is that you have to unfold them to use them. When you receive a call, you have to flip the phone open to see who is calling. Some phones compensate for this by having another screen that you can see while the phone is folded. Or you can fold the phone inside out, with the screen on the outside, but then you miss out on the extra protection when you have it in your pocket.
