In preparation for the full reveal ahead of the VALORANT Masters Shanghai Grand Finals, Riot Games has released the full cinematic trailer for the newest map, Abyss. The first look suggests that many players will be plummeting to their deaths.

SANCTUM OF SECRETS // Abyss Official Map Trailer – VALORANT

In the trailer starring Omen, Iso, and Clove, the trio navigates the map, which appears to be set above an actual infinite pit—fitting considering the name for the next VALORANT map: Abyss. While the full layout wasn’t shown, a few treacherous spots really stand out.

At 1:05 minutes in, the trailer shows an overhead shot of what appears to be one of the spike sites, which appears to feature a small bridge of pipes leading down with no railing or barrier, next to a massive hole leading down to certain death. Years ago, the VALORANT mapping team considered a site with a hole in the ground when they first looked at Pearl, but two years later it looks like they’ve finally pulled the trigger on an exceptionally dangerous site feature.

The rest of the trailer sees the agents navigate various ledges that appear to hang over the Abyss. We even see Omen teleport behind an enemy onto a narrow rock formation. Players will likely have to jump upwards to travel between ledges.
