The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) on Tuesday (August 13) issued a summons to suspended Bamban City Mayor Alice Guo to respond to a complaint against her for material deception.

“You are hereby directed to personally file your counter-affidavit and other supporting documents or statements of your witnesses, if any, in four hard copies with the Legal Department at the COMELEC Headquarters within ten (10) days from the receipt thereof,” reads the summons issued by the COMELEC Legal Department.
The Legal Department informed Guo that “a complaint has been filed against you for violation of Article 74 in relation to Article 262 of the Omnibus Election Code.”
The complaint was filed at the request of the COMELEC En Banc, following a fact-finding investigation against Guo.
