The Esports World Cup makes its debut this summer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a prize pool of over $60 million. Organized by the Esports World Cup Foundation, the event will feature various organizations and players competing across 20 gaming titles.

The $60,000,000 Esports World Cup is hiding something.

Today, the Esports World Cup Foundation announced the names of the 30 esports clubs participating in the Club Support Program.

The Esports World Cup Foundation Club Program allows organizations (clubs) to tap into a significant six-figure fund, which organizers say will help clubs promote the creation of “sustainable infrastructure” in esports. While the program allows clubs to “extend their investment to more games,” it does not guarantee a spot in the Esports World Cup, with clubs and athletes having to qualify for each title.

But regardless of whether they qualify for the Esports World Cup or not, all members of the Esports World Cup Club Support Program will be eligible for annual financial rewards based on their ability to increase “viewership and fan engagement” at the event.
