The thing about Waljas is that there isn’t much of him to rightfully rank him higher. Waljas is a newborn, someone who was forced by his tribe to prime at a young age in order to birth a new mother crystal. His story is heartbreaking, but I would have preferred if we had been given the chance to see a more mature Dominant of Water and his life in Valisthea after 80 years of captivity.

Say it with me: Benedikta was a waste. While I know that not everyone gets redemption or a happy ending, Benedikta truly did not deserve much of what happened to her. Her goal was to “survive,” and working for Barnabas was the only path she could see leading to that. Benedikta didn’t need to be an ally, but she didn’t deserve her fate. And more importantly, she didn’t deserve how she met her fate—in the most shameful way possible, a remnant of her roots as a Branded.
