According to the announcement during a Nintendo Direct presentation on Friday, the free content includes fan-favorite NPCs Brewster and Kapp'n, gyroids, new shops, DIY cooking recipes and more. After the update, Brewster will open a café on the second floor of the museum and will serve you and your friends some java if you do Blathers a certain favor. Kapp'n will take you to remote islands on his boat.

Harv's Island will feature an open market where merchants like Redd, Saharah, and Kicks can set up shop. Animal Crossing mainstays Katrina and Harriet will also make an appearance to tell the future and style hair, respectively.

Nook Inc. has a number of new services, such as ordinances to keep weeds from growing or waking up all the islanders early. You can also expand your storage space and change the look of your home.
