Apple Glasses (also known as Apple Glass) is a rumored augmented reality headset for consumers. Apple was granted a US patent for a “predictive, foveated virtual reality system” and another for a head-wearable device. Both appear to be part of a long-rumored AR/MR head-mounted display system from the tech giant.

There are conflicting opinions on a release date, partly because there are potentially three types of glasses and headsets that Apple is planning to release. Apple Glasses is the AR device, while Apple Vision Pro is the AR/VR headset that is already confirmed for an early 2024 release.

According to analyst Jeff Pu, the AR glasses may be delayed until 2025 or 2026 "due to design issues." However, Mark Gurman says Apple has delayed the AR glasses indefinitely.
