Apple has announced that its 31st annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) will kick off on June 22, 2020 as a virtual event. It will be free to all registered developers, instead of the usual $1,500 ticket price.

What is WWDC? Typically held in the summer, this event brings together developers from around the world to attend workshops, learn new skills, and hear about Apple’s plans for its various operating systems. This year, we’re likely to see new information about iOS 14 and watchOS 7, as predicted by MacRumors.
Virtual reality: The global pandemic has forced Apple and other companies to scramble to maintain their usual schedules, including developer conferences. Microsoft’s Build has been made free and scheduled as a virtual event for May 19-20, while Facebook’s annual F8 conference was canceled outright.
Phil Schiller said: “WWDC20 will be our biggest yet, bringing together our global developer community of over 23 million people in an unprecedented way for one week in June to learn about the future of Apple platforms,” said Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, in a statement.
