Playground Productions has announced that it is bringing back the iconic Backyard Sports franchise. In addition to the anticipated video game release, the company plans to expand the franchise into other formats including television, film, merchandise and more.

It looks like Backyard Sports fans won’t have long to wait. Playground Productions has announced that the re-release is set to launch “in the coming months.” It’s also said that these re-releases will be updated in some way, while staying true to what made the franchise so popular.

It is unknown which title will mark the beginning of the franchise’s comeback. However, the recently released trailer shows the cast of characters playing baseball. Additionally, the art featuring Pablo Sanchez, Stephanie Morgan, Ernie Steele, Achmed Khan, and Pete Wheeler shows them holding a football, basketball, baseball glove, soccer ball, and hockey stick, representing nearly all of the sports featured in the series.
