Call of Duty: Warzone has undergone several changes, both positive and negative, over its four-year lifespan. The game was a hot commodity when it launched in 2020, as it offered a diverse and fresh take on the battle royale genre. However, some players believe the game has strayed too far from the original battle royale concept.

Traditionally, a battle royale game sees a group of players thrown into an environment to battle each other, with the last person standing winning. Warzone did just that, attracting huge numbers of players while also becoming the first and only free-to-play Call of Duty title. One of the game’s major highlights was its redeployment feature, which meant that dead teammates could be brought back into the match by simply spending some money. However, players have not been happy with the heavy expansion of this mechanic in the game’s current state.

User GloriousFlame posted a video on Reddit showing a gameplay clip in the final circle of Warzone. You can see how players continued to use flares and portable buy stations to send their teammates back. Additionally, the ability to carry multiple self revives in your backpack allows downed players to be brought back into the fight as if nothing happened.

Skyline responded in the thread, "We have Resurgence. Why do we need so many retakes on normal BR?" I can't agree more. These retake features are only good to a certain extent in a Battle Royale. If the developers really want to keep these mechanics in the game, the Resurgence game mode is the best place for it.
