Unicord Overlord throws a ton of characters at you early on in the game. It can be tempting to use everyone sparingly, but at some point you’ll need to prioritize certain characters to invest in. Kitra doesn't really shine as a frontliner, but she does a lot of damage, making her ideal for the backline. All Warriors are technically good, if only because they can punish Armored enemies and knock down barricades. Kitra ranks higher than the other Warriors, because she is faster and has about the same physical attack.
Aubin can quickly become the hardest hitting character in your army. There are other characters with higher attack stats, but as Housecarl, Aubin gains Parting Shot. This allows him to hit a second time at the end of a battle. If you pair him with another strong character that can spread chip damage, Aubin can finish off the enemy with ease.
Cavalry is broken in Unicorn Overlord. They have shorter rest times, they can move faster, and they have a natural advantage against infantry. This is very nice, because most enemies in the game are infantry. Wild Rush is also a nice Valor Skill to break out against groups of enemies.
