In Ubisoft's XDefiant, players can choose from five factions. Each faction represents a Ubisoft game and has its own ultimate ability, passive abilities, and two primary abilities.

At the time of writing, there are five factions in XDefiant: Cleaners, Phantoms, Libertad, Echelon, and DedSec. Each of these factions focuses on a different playstyle, and some are better suited to certain modes than others. All in all, there really aren’t any bad faction choices in XDefiant, but all things considered, which one is the best?

The DedSec faction is all about taking out the enemy’s abilities. From stunning enemies with the Spiderbot, to hacking and controlling an enemy’s technology, and preventing other factions from using their abilities, there’s definitely a place for the DedSec faction.

The Hijack ability has a small radius though, and Spiderbot can easily be shot down by mid to high level players who pay attention. The Lockout ultra prevents enemies from using their abilities, but it still relies on you and your team to hit your shots and doesn’t provide any value or assistance in terms of damage output.
