Todd Howard stated in a recent interview that Bethesda has no plans to remake classic Fallout games, as he doesn't think it can match the games' charm. Fans at X were very pleased with this decision.

Classic Fallout Doesn't Need a Remake or Remaster

YouTuber MrMattyPlays conducted an hour-long interview with Todd Howard on June 16, where he asked the Bethesda CEO about the future and the state of their IPs. When asked if Bethesda plans to remake the classic Fallout games, Todd said, "I would argue that part of the charm of games from that era and the original Fallout is a little bit of that era. I would never want to overlay any of that with, 'Well, we changed how this works so it's more modern.'"

He added: "As long as you can download it, as long as it loads and runs, I want people to experience it the same way they did then."

When the summary of the interview was shared by PC Gamer on X, fans of the original Fallout games rejoiced. Many of them feared that Bethesda's remakes of Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics would ruin their legacies.
