WatchOS 11: Best New Apple Watch Features to Try

When Apple shows off a new Watch model at its Wonderlust event, the gadget is expected to feature a slew of sensor upgrades. The ability to monitor your body and environment in more and better ways could be a game changer for the wearable.

“Advanced sensors can help identify a wider range of medical conditions,” James Stables, co-founder of smartwatch website Wareable, told Lifewire.com in an email interview. “We’ve already seen wearables targeting Afib and sleep apnea, and expect to see a move into blood pressure and even blood glucose in the future.”

The Apple Watch Series 9 and the second iteration of the Apple Watch Ultra will arrive with several sensor and component improvements, according to a recent report. These updates include a next-generation optical heart rate sensor, which will follow the third-generation sensor found in the Apple Watch Series 7 and Series 8.
