The Bose SoundTouch Wireless Link Adapter is something of a one-stop shop for modernizing your home audio system. At first glance, it's essentially just a wireless Bluetooth adapter with a few different inputs. But once you pair it with the Bose SoundTouch app and explore its various potential uses, its versatility becomes clear. It's not without its faults, however: It has way too many different uses and can be complicated and cumbersome to set up. Unlike the plug-and-play options at the lower end of the budget spectrum, the SoundTouch Link requires you to jump through a few hoops to fully unlock all of its features. But if you're ready to dive in and perhaps have a variety of other SoundTouch products, this is a great way to unify your entire home audio system.

There’s not much to say about the design, and that’s somewhat intentional. Bose has gone all out to make this device as small and minimalist as possible: it measures 3.4” x 3.4” x 1”, and has a similar look and feel to an Apple TV. It’s made of a glossy black plastic that will look very familiar to Bose fans, and there are essentially no other accents on the product, other than a small white Bose logo on top.

There’s only one button on the top and all of the ports are on the back of the unit, so it’s easy to plug it into the back of your entertainment center. There are some subtle LED indicators on the front of the unit that completely disappear when the lights are off. The whole unit is very unobtrusive, which is great because you’ll probably just want to tuck it out of the way in a cabinet or on top of a stereo receiver.
