Hard drives everywhere breathed a sigh of relief. A major pain point for the Call of Duty franchise will be fixed with Modern Warfare 3's Season Five Reloaded update next week.

COD HQ IS CHANGING COMPLETELY! Major WARZONE Changes, New UI UPDATES & More! (BO6 Update)

CoD is looking to reorganize game content in a variety of ways, starting with a major update next week. But after that, Activision promises that all future CoD downloads will "reduce in size and existing files will take up less space on your device."

This is a huge development for the franchise, as the inclusion of games like MW3 and Warzone in the Call of Duty HQ app can bring install sizes to well over 200GB. It looks like those days may soon be a thing of the past.

But soon, the process of improving everything will begin. And it all starts with one final, substantial download for next week’s Season Five Reloaded update. This means players will essentially have to redownload the game in its new, reorganized state to prepare for what’s to come, including the Black Ops 6 beta.
