NBC's Chicago PD is welcoming Toya Turner (New Amsterdam, Warrior Nun) into a series regular role for Season 12, Deadline has confirmed. She will play police officer Yara Page.
Chicago PD Casts Toya Turner for Season 12
This isn't Turner's first time in a One Chicago series. She's appeared in both Chicago Fire and Chicago Med, but in completely different characters than her PD role.
Turner joins the series following Tracy Spiridakos' departure as Detective Hailey Upton after 8 seasons in the season 11 finale. Prior to that, Jesse Lee Soffer also left the team as Jay Halstead and Hailey's now ex-husband.
Fans have been asking for a love interest for Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) for seasons. Could Yara and Kevin hit it off romantically? We'll just have to wait and see.
