Should You Use Cloud Download or Local Reinstall on Windows?
Resetting your Windows installation is a great way to fix obscure errors by simply returning the OS to its stock state. But should you opt for a cloud download or a local reinstall?
Both methods will delete your existing Windows 10 (or Windows 11) installation and reinstall it from scratch. You can still choose to keep your data by selecting the relevant option, but this will delete your settings and installed applications.
Resetting your Windows PC will remove the operating system and then reinstall it from one of two possible sources. If you select Cloud Download, the correct installation will be downloaded from Microsoft's servers. If you choose the Local Reinstall option, it will be rebuilt from the local backup instead.
