CNN Names Jessica Dean as Weekend Primetime 'Newsroom' Anchor; Promotes Donie O'Sullivan

CNN has hired Jessica Dean as anchor of the primetime weekend edition of CNN Newsroom. She will also continue to report on politics as a correspondent.

Dean, who joined the network in 2018, previously served as a congressional correspondent and substitute anchor on the network's daily news program. She led coverage of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump and Iran's attack on Israel.

The network has also promoted Donie O’Sullivan to senior correspondent for CNN. For the past decade, he has reported on online disinformation and the spread of conspiracy theories and extremism. O’Sullivan will continue to report on the role of disinformation in the 2024 election, which will include new episodes of MisinfoNation, part of The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper. He joined the network in 2016. Among other assignments, he reported live from the Capitol grounds during the attacks on January 6, 2021.
