If you work in a small business environment, it can be a real pain to have to walk around to every computer that needs to be fixed. However, if you can connect remotely and troubleshoot or adjust settings, it’s a lot easier.

Although less common, there are times when you need to connect to another computer to change, delete, or add registry keys and values. Sure, you could remotely open a desktop on the computer and do this, but if you’re reading this article, you’re not going that route.

In this article, I’m going to talk about the remote registry service in Windows that allows you to directly connect to the registry hives on another computer using regedit. However, for this to work, there are several requirements.
