Tier 1 leaker Midori says: "There is a game in development at Nintendo codenamed Banquet." Nintendo fans have seen a few first-party games so far in 2024, with Mario vs Donkey Kong in February, Princess Peach Showtime in March, and soon-to-be Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door in May. It makes sense, then, that they'd want to know what else is in store for them. That's where this new game comes in.
Leading leaker says Nintendo is working on a game codenamed “Banquet” – But what could it be?
Banquet is the internal name the developers are using for this untitled game. If you’re new to these types of leaks, this is common practice, much like Nintendo NX is the codename for Nintendo Switch. When it comes to games, there are two possibilities for what this upcoming project could be.
The first is the possibility that it is a sequel to Super Mario Party. Banquet, like Buffet, is a term related to parties. So the easy speculation is that the game in development could be Super Mario Party 2. That is not the only game that could mean though.
Previously, it was known that Kirby games had codenames based on different types of food. Some examples include Donut, Pizza, Eclair, Lime2, and Breakfast. Since Breakfast could be loosely related to Banquet, we can assume that it might be a hint towards Kirby's Dream Buffet 2.
