Not all of the hideous, villainous, loathsome monsters in the world of Diablo 4 are bad. Some are benevolent, apparently, thanks to a new promotion from Blizzard on the game's official Twitter/X account.

I tried the Diablo 4 season 5 update and it's…

Diablo 4: Duriel's Offering is a charity campaign where the company engages in farming, just like any other account with a checkmark in the app, but for a good reason. Fittingly, Duriel the Maggot King collects maggots for charity.

If that sounds confusing, it probably is. But as part of an Earth Day celebration, for every 25 likes on the Twitter post, Blizzard will donate 45,000 maggots to birds being treated and rehabilitated at Tiggywinkles, an animal hospital in England.

Sick birds need to eat, and sick birds love a plump, juicy maggot to munch on. And within two hours of the post going live, Twitter users and Diablo fans had created a storm of over 6.66 million maggots liked for the sick flyers.
