House leaders vowed to monitor the budget allocated to the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and ensure that the redistricting implemented by the Senate in the 2023 national budget does not happen again.

During Wednesday's press conference, House Vice Speaker and Quezon Rep. David Suarez, Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers and Manila Rep. Ernesto Dionisio Jr. stressed the importance of the 4Ps in helping needy families.

“Hindi iyon nangyari sa Congress. When that budget was approved in the GAB, that fund was intact. Somewhere in a different way, nabawasan po iyon. At kung titingnan po natin, meron pong ongoing House investigation po dito para malaman kung ano ang naging epekto ng bawas na iyon,” Suarez said.

Suarez referred to the reported reallocation of the P13 billion 4Ps fund by Senator Imee Marcos under the General Appropriations Bill of 2023, which resulted in some 4.3 million Filipino families not receiving government social grants.
