Dragonsplague, widely regarded as one of the most devastating disasters in Dragon's Dogma 2, will be mitigated in an April patch to reduce the frequency of infections and make the infection symptoms more visible on your Pawns.

On April 19, Capcom shared its planned updates for Dragon's Dogma 2 on X (formerly Twitter), including one regarding Dragonsplague, the plague that's been terrifying players. The changes to Dragonsplague will make it more visible, meaning the glowing red eyes of the infected Pawn will be more prominent, the developers wrote in their shared plans. The Dragonsplague infection rate will also be reduced to a significant extent, which will be welcome considering that it's currently spreading like wildfire among players.

If you haven’t encountered Dragonsplague yet, it’s spread by hiring infected Pawns or fighting Drakes and Dragons. These infected Pawns can in turn infect your Pawns, but it won’t affect your Arisen. If your Pawn is left untreated, it can go on a murderous rampage while you’re asleep, killing everyone including valuable merchants, vendors, and blacksmiths. As a result, it can ruin your playthroughs and even prevent you from progressing the storyline at all, and has caused chaos in many a player’s playthrough.

Currently, the only way to "cure" a Pawn from Dragonsplague is to either send the infected Pawn away (if it's one you hired) to get rid of it before it affects your Pawns, or kill it and summon it again with a Riftstone. Unfortunately, no elixir or tonic can cure a Pawn from Dragonsplague. So if you notice that your Pawn is becoming more irritable towards you or has a red tint to its eyes, your best bet is to "cure" it. The problem with this, however, is that it's difficult to spot the signs of Dragonsplague until it's too late.
