FromSoftware has just released a new Elden Ring patch with a bunch of balance changes across the board. Unlike most patches, 1.13 buffs a ton of tools in your arsenal, including Weapons, Spells, Incantations, Ashes of War, and Spirit Summons, while toning down some of the biggest offenders.

ELDEN RING SotE – THE NEW BEST SORCERIES AFTER PATCH 1.13: ALL BUFFS & NERFS

Impenetrable Thorns, which quickly became one of the most powerful spells in the game after its introduction via Shadow of the Erdtree, received a much-needed nerf. Miriam's Vanishing and Knight's Lightning Spear also suffered reduced damage in PvP, but their PvE prowess is here to stay.

On the buffs front, there’s a long list of changes. If you found your fully upgraded summoned Spirit Ashes underpowered to deal with the chonky DLC bosses, Elden Ring Patch 1.13 buffs almost all of them with stagger resistance, increased HP, and improved attack power, save for the Mimic Tear. Additionally, several Shadow of the Erdtree-exclusive NPC summons like Needle Knight Leda, Pureblood Knight Ansbach, and Thiollier should also serve their wingman duties much better now with their increased stats.

Strength-build enthusiasts will rejoice over the Savage Lion's Claw buff. The patch notes say, "The second hit of the follow-up attack is now easier to land." As for Dex and Quality, expect an easier time with the Light Greatswords' charge attack damage animation buff, especially if you swear by Milady.
