Emily in Paris season 4 part 1 leaves viewers in a gray area after a number of major plot twists, or trompe l'oeils.

Two big revelations will challenge Gabriel in particular in part 2 of season 4, as it turns out that Luc's girlfriend Marianne (Laurence Gormezano) isn't the Michelin-starred inspector she claimed to be, and Camille (Camille Razat) isn't actually pregnant! This will make things interesting for Emily and Gabriel to navigate after they decide to enter a relationship. Co-stars Lily Collins and Lucas Bravo emphasized the maturity this season for their characters.

In keeping with the gray area concept, which was already touched upon in the trailer for the first half of the series, director Andrew Fleming, who directed six episodes this season, reiterated these themes.
