Nintendo's E3 Direct has now wrapped up, bringing a ton of new information about the company's upcoming games, as well as a look at several remastered titles Nintendo has planned.

Nintendo held its E3 Direct on Tuesday, showing off several upcoming games as well as some overhauls of past franchises that Nintendo fans have come to love. Remasters for Super Monkey Ball and a remake for Advanced Wars are planned, as well as DLC for games like Hyrule Warriors. That's not all, though; Nintendo also shared new details about the sequel to 2017's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Currently being referred to by most as Breath of the Wild 2, the sequel will feature the same open-world gameplay as the original, but with some added abilities and new areas to explore. The footage showed off some of the new weapons and powers that protagonist Link will have at his disposal, while also giving players a glimpse of various floating islands to explore. Nintendo has yet to give an official release date, but it did say that it is aiming to release the game in 2022.

The Direct didn't bring any news about Nintendo's planned Metroid Prime 4, a sequel to the GameCube first-person shooter series, but it did provide a release date and a trailer for a new side-scrolling Metroid game called Metroid Dread. The new title is set for release on October 8 and will feature traditional Metroid combat mixed with new enemies and stages.
