The two-year-old virtual reality (VR) headset Oculus Go is no more, the Facebook-owned company announced in a blog post on Wednesday. The move comes amid increased interest in the Go's younger sibling, the Oculus Quest, which has the added benefit of more cameras for a better VR experience, the company said.

Degrees of freedom: The Quest has the advantage of a six degrees of freedom (6DoF) tracking system, whereas the Go only had three (3DoF). 6DoF devices can do more than just track your head movement, they can also track your position in a room. This simply makes for a better, more immersive VR experience.
Behind the Scenes: The Oculus Go was the first VR headset that didn’t require you to tether it to a powerful PC (like the Oculus Rift) or a mobile phone (like the Gear VR). The future: If you already own a Go, Oculus says it will maintain the system software with bug fixes and security updates through 2022. New Go apps are no longer being accepted, and the Go app store will stop accepting currently developed apps starting in December 2020.
