Top Charts: Spotify is launching two new podcast charts: Top Podcasts and Trending Podcasts. These should make it easier for listeners to discover new favorites and see how their current favorites are ranking.
How it works: The charts launch today in 26 markets, including the U.S., U.K., Brazil, Australia, Germany, Mexico and Sweden. They reveal the “fastest rising trends in podcasts right now,” highlighting the most popular shows in your region based on recent listener numbers. Top Podcasts charts show the top 200 shows, while Trending Podcasts charts show the top 50.
In the aforementioned countries, the Top Podcasts chart will also be broken down by category, so you can easily distinguish the comedy shows from the video game spoiler casts and true crime dramas. According to The Verge, both charts will be updated daily.
