Some attendees described the Pokémon Center's opening day at the World Championships in Hawaii as a "miserable experience."

The Pokémon World event has started EARLY!

Pokémon Worlds officially opens on August 16, but thousands of visitors have already arrived in Honolulu. The Pokémon Center, which sells exclusive merchandise, first opened its doors on August 14.

Unfortunately, it seems to have been a disaster. One fan on social media shared that they went to the Pokemon Center at 2pm but had “already run out” of some of the most sought-after merchandise, including lanyards, skateboards, sleeves, deck boxes, and playmats.

The problems weren’t limited to fans. Worlds attendee Defcon said they waited “two hours” past their time slot only to find that deck boxes and playmats were sold out. He went on to criticize the early access many influencers were given to the store, saying they were “considered significantly more important than any of the competition.”
