Nexon doesn’t have the best reputation after the issues with their games Sudden Attack and Maple Story. Their games are full of microtransactions, which has gotten them into trouble in the past. This reputation worried players when they started playing The First Descendant, but it seems like Nexon is actually doing great things with in-game support after launch.

The First Descendant NEW PLAYER GUIDE

On July 11th, 2024, The First Descendant team released an update that includes all of the changes made in their 1.0.2 hotfix. For those unfamiliar, a hotfix is a patch or update added to the game to provide immediate fixes for issues without requiring players to download the larger files that come with a full patch. A hotfix sometimes requires a small update to your game, but it takes seconds to complete.

In this hotfix update, Nexon has adjusted several features of the game, including the addition of matchmaking for infiltration operations set to Hard mode. This feature was previously unavailable, making these missions unnecessarily difficult.

Since The First Descendant is a game where running out of ammo is often a problem, I can't imagine trying to pull off an infiltration operation on Hard mode by myself. TPS games aren't my thing, but I enjoy the cooperative nature of The First Descendant. It seemed odd to have missions that I couldn't open up to other players around me or join in on to help out Descendants who also wanted to do the same mission.
