Esports legend FormaL has made it clear that he’s considering a return to competitive Call of Duty, nearly three years after announcing his retirement. There’s one gameplay feature Activision needs to get right, though: CoD’s “over-the-top” aim assist.

Formal opens up about why he might reconsider joining CoD!

The 29-year-old Halo and CoD veteran recently hinted strongly that he wants to try out Black Ops 6 this September, and he's so interested that he might even pick up the controller and go pro again. "I plan on playing [Black Ops 6], I plan on playing that fucking shit professionally," he said in July, though he wouldn't reveal anything when questioned by Scump during coverage of the CoD Championships.

Fuel was added to the FormaL fire during an August 2nd stream featuring ex-CoD legend and 100 Thieves frontman Nadeshot, who nearly offered him a spot on the LA Thieves roster. "If you want to come back bro, you're in – LA Thieves, book it, bro. You can stay on OpTic with Hector, but you gotta rock LAT if you play with us," Nadeshot stated, before adding that he "wasn't trolling." We're taking this with a grain of salt, but FormaL certainly sounds interested in a CoD return in some capacity.

One thing that stands in the way, with FormaL wondering when watching older CoD tournaments, is how much aim assist plays a role in modern CoD. "Ever since Warzone came out, dynamic aim assist and all that extra shit has changed multiplayer CoD drastically," FormaL said, while showing off the 2017 final between his team OpTic and Luminosity. "That's one thing that's putting me off actually going back to CoD and going all out."
