The faction debuted in 2022, with Edge as its first leader. However, Edge was kicked out by Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, who then appointed Finn Balor as the new leader.

The faction grew stronger when Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh joined, which further cemented its power. Judgment Day has dominated WWE for several years now. Recently, Dominik Mysterio also brought the faction's old rival, Carlito, into their faction. Although Carlito is not officially part of the faction, he has been seen backstage with members for months, possibly hinting at his future participation.

Hardy left AEW in March, when his contract expired, opting not to re-sign with Tony Khan's promotion. This led to speculation about a possible WWE return. However, Hardy surprised fans by returning to TNA in April with Rebellion, bringing back his infamous "broken" gimmick.
Given the ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA that sees talent cross paths, the possibility of Broken Matt Hardy joining The Judgment Day is an exciting prospect.
