Shannon Bream, Fox News Sunday anchor and legal reporter, was in Milwaukee to emcee ahead of the meeting. She was still in her chair as she watched the proceedings on a monitor.

"We had just gone into the live meeting and we were all staying in our seats to be ready to cover the meeting, and very quickly, as I was sitting there, maybe five, six minutes into the speech, I heard some popping," Bream told Deadline in an interview today. "I saw the president go behind the podium. I heard some yelling and I gestured to all of us who were still in coverage mode, 'Wait a minute, what's happening? What's happening?' Because we had all taken a little break."

Producers told her through her earpiece, “We have to record this live.”
