Garmin has just unveiled the newest member of its Instinct rugged smartwatch line: the Instinct Crossover.

Garmin Instinct 2X SOLAR: the smartwatch that never needs to be charged!

This watch combines analog and digital functions, as the Instinct Crossover features analog hands, just like one of those "dumb" watches, but with a robust suite of high-tech features. You get an always-on display, GPS, Garmin's own easy-pay app, notifications and plenty of tracking options.

The tracking suite focuses on health metrics, with sensors for heart rate, VO2 Max (maximum oxygen consumption) and more. The Instinct Crossover also has dedicated walking, running, hiking and general training apps.

Battery life is strong here, especially for rugged smartwatches and hybrid watches. The standard version boasts over a month of use per charge, while the Solar Edition can last up to 70 days with sufficient sunlight. Both versions include a battery-saving mode that limits features to conserve juice.
