Google is busy updating many of your favorite web apps, including Google Docs, Drive, Sheets, and Slides.

The company says the changes are being made to encourage collaboration across the product line, so average users can expect increased connectivity between the various apps. With that in mind, each app will have a new, simplified user interface and many updated features.

Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides have been redesigned to help users perform common actions faster, including the commenting system. There are no changes to the actual functionality within each app, but features have been moved around to reduce clutter within the new, simplified interface.

For example, you can easily get information about a document, such as its last edit and version history, via a clock icon in the upper right corner, instead of having to scroll through the menu.
