Helldivers 2 has set a new record as Sony's fastest-selling launch game in history, dethroning God of War: Ragnarok.

In the first 12 weeks after its launch, Helldivers 2 sold a whopping 12 million copies on PC and PlayStation 5. God of War: Ragnarok sold 11 million copies in 10 weeks by 2023.
As reported by VGC, Sony admitted that Helldivers 2 “exceeded expectations” during a financial results call for the year ending March 31, 2024, as part of a record year for the gaming division’s revenue.
The record year comes despite missing targets for PS5 sales, which shipped 20.8 million in the fiscal year. Sales are expected to decline in the period through March 2025, with "no major existing franchise titles" in the next 12 months.
