There have been many pieces and analyses about how Hollywood will respond following recent meetings between OpenAI and entertainment industry players — both heads of major and independent studios, as well as talent agency executives. And yes, film and TV producers like me are weighing the offers on the table, so here’s what I have to say: Hollywood can’t trust Big Tech with AI.

Joe Rogan: "I Wasn't Afraid of AI Until I Learned This"

Enter Microsoft (owner of OpenAI), Google, and Meta, among others, selling the idea that AI is only accessible through their centralized services. Big Tech is pushing products like OpenAI’s Sora as the ultimate content engine, promising infinite content with a few keystrokes.

It’s a race for dominance in the AI future, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. The more convinced we are that AI is the domain of the Big Tech titans, the more likely they are to gain ground in this new land grab.
