Apple's "Glowtime" was a long, boring event filled with product launches, Tim Cook's drawling voice, and a few revelations from Apple Intelligence. But artists don't usually bother with new and shiny things unless there's something that can help them create their art and capture the muse in flight. Fortunately, Apple's event didn't disappoint on that front.

Everything You Can Do With Voice Memos | More Powerful Than You Think

An upcoming upgrade to the Voice Memos app will soon let you overlay tracks and create multi-track recordings, as well as transcribe your recordings. If you’re a budding musician (or even a pro), here’s how multi-track recording and transcription can change the way you capture ideas.

According to Apple, Voice Memos uses "advanced processing" to isolate the second layered track, canceling out the background music playing through the speaker, leaving you with a clean track of sounds you recorded the second time.

While Apple hasn’t specified how many tracks you can add in total, it appears that layering stops at two. Perhaps a future update will add support for more. Fingers crossed!
