Pablo Martinez always wanted to work in the fintech sector. When the founders of Pay Theory asked him to join the team, he knew it was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.

Martinez is the chief marketing officer of Pay Theory, maker of a SaaS-based electronic payment solution. The company focuses on helping families and public schools manage technology-based financial payments.

Pay Theory, founded in 2019, developed a payments platform for service providers and SaaS vendors to help create more seamless payment experiences. Martinez said the company’s electronic payments solution integrates with accounting platforms to enable credit card, debit, ACH and cash payments through retail partners. Pay Theory has raised $350,000 in pre-seed funding to date and is working toward closing its seed round.

“We want to take the world of fintech and see how we can meet the needs of a family,” Martinez told Lifewire in a phone interview. “There are companies like Square that are adding value to small businesses, Toast is doing it in the restaurant space, Venmo is doing it for peer-to-peer. We want to do that for families.”
