Phoenix is a hell of a tough boss to beat due to his huge health pool and wide range of AOE spells that can decimate your entire party if you’re not prepared. For this fight, I recommend using the standard setup of Red XIII, Cloud, and Aerith or following my party setup:
Manaward and Defaith let you survive Phoenix's fiery attacks, and Blizzard/Blizzara target Phoenix's weakness. It's also vital to have at least one level of Cure on two of your party members, as items are disabled in Chadley's Combat Simulator.
