The first step to becoming a Soul Reaper in Type Soul is to die. After appearing in the game as a human, you will be killed by an NPC character or player on the server. This will allow you to turn your avatar into a lost soul. Now, talk to the Kisuke NPC in Katakura Town to join the Soul Society. He should be standing on the outskirts of town, on a small plateau-like terrain. Use the image below for a pictorial reference of the area. That's it! You've become a Soul Reaper in Type Soul.

After becoming a Soul Reaper, you will immediately return to Rukongai as a trainee. The remaining task is to gain experience points by completing missions and leveling up your grade.
