In No Man's Sky, players can visit distant planets and uncharted galaxies, build bases, run settlements, or simply enjoy the breathtaking views. If you're here for the latter, you'll probably want to know how to switch camera angles.

How to Adjust the Field of View in No Man's Sky

While the game is engaging, it starts from a third-person perspective, which may not appeal to players who want to experience the experience of traveling the stars firsthand. Fortunately for such players, the game doesn’t force you to stay in third-person mode. You can switch between the perspectives of your character or ship at any time.

To change your camera perspective in NMS, open the in-game menu (not the settings menu). Here is a step-by-step list of instructions on how to change your camera perspective in NMS:

Outside of immersion, switching to a first-person view has a few advantages. In first-person mode, the view is generally considered better because the character doesn’t get in the way and you can focus on whatever item you’re looking at. If this sounds like you but you still want to play NMS in first-person mode, try adjusting your field-of-view (FOV) setting in the Camera menu under the Options menu.
