When you first create your character in DD2, you choose one of four starting professions: Fighter, Thief, Mage, or Ranger. To change professions in Dragon's Dogma 2, you must first reach the town of Vernworth.

From now on you can search for a Professional Guild in various places on the map. This is not limited to Vernworth.
