If you’re hosting a dedicated server in Palworld and are wondering how exactly you can change the settings based on the gameplay you want to experience, it can be a little confusing at first. While non-dedicated server settings can be changed using the in-game settings, for dedicated servers it’s the complete opposite and a real hassle. However, once you learn a few things, you’ll be able to adjust your server settings in Palworld much more easily.

Palworld Dedicated Server Installation Guide

There are two ways to host a dedicated server, via the Palworld Dedicated Server Tool or via a third-party service. We can understand that this can be confusing. In this guide, we will explain how you can change your server settings and adjust all the values accordingly without any hassle.

For players who want to change the dedicated server settings in Palworld that you have set up with the tool, you will need to have access to a config file in your game directory. The config file is called PalWorldSettings.ini and can be found in the config folder in your directory. The official path is /Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/PalServer/Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer. This will help you find the file more easily in your game directory.

Once you find the file, simply open it with Notepad and you will see that it is empty. However, you can add various options such as Death Penalty, Drop Rate, Catch Rate, etc., and adjust the percentage or turn it on/off. Although the file does not contain any options, you can add them from the DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini file in the PalServer folder.
