Update [September 24, 2020]: As previously planned for an update on September 21, 2020, Zoom has begun rolling out several new features to its Android app. One of the new features is the ability to apply virtual backgrounds during meetings, which you can do right from your Android device. However, the new feature requires that you're running Android 8 or later and have an 8-core or higher processor. Zoom initially listed support for the following processors: Qualcomm 835, Samsung Exynos 9810, and Huawei Kirin 980.
